Many of our group have danced since they were young children, while others have learnt as adults. Our dances are created to honour our Liwik (Ancestors), Kerr-up-non (Family), Biik (Country) and animals. We are all related by blood through one woman, Annie Borate, William Barak's sister. We teach our dancers to also sing in Woiwurrung language, our Mother Tongue.

Riding the success of their first four singles, they have maintained a steady following of monthly listeners and have received continued attention from fans, critics and publications alike, with praise on Triple J Unearthed and repeated rotation on ABC’s Rage as 'Wild One' features.
NICHOLA INGVARSON - 1 pm
Nichola Ingvarson is a singer/performer from Melbourne. Currently studying popular music at Monash University, she has been working on her performance skills and developing her singing voice. Nichola has played at various venues around Melbourne as a multi-instrumentalist in different bands, most recently in ‘Munchy Dolphin’. She hopes to keep performing and creating with others in the years to come.
VERY EARLY - 2:00 pm
Very Early is a Melbourne based indie band which blends the unique styles of each member to create a new exciting sound.
NIKITA CAMPBELL and CHANDA ANDERSON PRIOR - 3 pm
Nikita Campbell and Chanda Anderson Prior, accompanied by Jayla McLennan, are a Music Theatre trio from Melbourne.
Nikita and Chanda started collaborating while studying at Ballarat's Federation University Arts Academy. Together the two have performed in Working: A Musical, Ladies in Black and A Chorus Line. While studying they have devised their own cabarets, using their creative and performing skills.
Jayla is a Melbourne based Musical Director and keys player who has studied music performance at the Berklee College of Music in the USA. Jayla has acted as Musical Director and Assistant Musical Director for shows such as Jack Frost the Musical (Australian Premiere), Gilligan's Island the Musical (Australian Premiere), Forbidden Broadway and many other shows around Melbourne.
Together they will be performing songs from various Music Theatre works.
KID DINGO - 4:00 pm
Kid Dingo makes Australian art-pop, sometimes with raps. An established artist within the Boorloo (Perth) music scene, he’s released six singles and an EP; and has supported acts such as Ziggy Ramo and Thando. He has now crossed the Nullarbor, after a hiatus, is in Naarm. He broke the silence with the punchy and colourful music video: Respect Yourself, and the introspective earworm ‘Your Boy Needs Jesus’.
Digging his roots deep into multiple music traditions, such as jazz, glittering seventies pop-piano and the full gamut of rap, Kid Dingo makes pop music gone wild.
GOLDEN HOUR - 6:00 pm
Golden Hour is an elite squadron of Northside musos, presenting a funky meditation on life, love and suburban malaise in the second most liveable city in the world. With their dynamic range of vocalists, scintillating rhythm section, and horn lines that are guaranteed to get stuck in your head for weeks after the show, they are ready to dive into this year headfirst, equipped with some feisty new tunes penned during the great 'rona lockdown of 2020.
EMPRESS - 7:00 pm
Empress is a 6-piece collective striving to create a unique and innovative platform for three-part vocal harmony, composing and arranging songs primarily focused around the power and complexities of the female voice. The three front-women, Grace Robinson, Stella Richardson-Dunai and Matilda Pungitore, created this ensemble when it became clear that women were severely underrepresented in the “hip” dance music scene in Melbourne. The lack of female fronted bands in the Melbourne electronic music scene is substantial and we want to be proactive in creating platforms and opportunities for young women in this genre.
All members in Empress are established young musicians in the Melbourne music scene. Being current or graduated Students of the Victorian College of the Arts, they are all passionate about multi-disciplinary performance of high quality. Empress takes inspiration from bands such as Tune yards, Sylvan Esso, Hiatus Kayote and even Destiny’s child, writing unique and extensive compositions in the RnB genre.
